The birdy friends were born in ‘Black Forest,’ deep in the pristine forest of Jeju untouched by humans. As its name suggests, Black Forest is covered in black shadows that keep it hidden from human view. It is a magical forest unseen and unheard of by humankind, and home to many different animals, plants and insects that live together in peace and harmony.

‘Ollum’ is a giant guardian that holds Black Forest locked in his embrace, protecting it from outside threats. He has been sound asleep for a very long time, but sometimes yawns or sneezes in his sleep, giving his forest friends a good fright.

The birdy friends have never encountered humans before they chance upon their first one, a child named ‘Humon.’ Through Humon, they occasionally get to hear stories about the human world, and learn that human life can get weary and depressing at times. So the birdy friends decide to cheer up humans with stories of life in their beautiful forest.

As they venture out of the forest, curious about the world outside, their adventures create even more stories that spread throughout Jeju Island and beyond. The stories of how the birdy friends discover values such as friendship, love, exploration and creation in nature are sure to give us insights into our own lives.
